Salmon
We primarily target King Salmon (Chinook) and Silver Salmon (Coho). We start the season in early May with the Mighty King Salmon. It's the largest of the five species of Salmon with an average weight of 25-30 lbs. (40-70 lbs. is not uncommon). From August through September, huge schools of acrobatic silver salmon move into Sitka waters. These fish average 10-12 lbs. and provide fast-and-furious action.
Halibut
The halibut fishing in Sitka can only be described as consistently outstanding Halibut ranging from 25-300 lbs. are abundant all season. Sitka doesn't have to contend with strong tidal currents meaning you can fish halibut anytime of the day. This allows us to fish for multiple species each day out on the water. It's quite common to catch halibut, salmon and other bottom fish all in the same day.
