FAQ

Wondering about our equipment, flights, and fishing licenses? We have all the answers you need here. We’d also be happy to talk it through on the phone or via email.

You’ll cast off on one of our four 30 - 32 foot customized Almar fishing boats—all equipped with state-of-the-art electronics to find fish, navigate, and communicate. All of our boats are completely walk around so you will have the room you need to fish from every side. Six guests and our expert crew fit comfortably on our vessels.

You don’t! We have everything you need in the size you need, including rain gear and boots to keep you dry and warm. You’ll use top-shelf fishing rods, Shimano line counter reels, Avet two-speed reels, and all the tackle and bait you will need. And don’t be shy to ask for left-handed reels—we have those too.

The package you pick is all inclusive—with the exception of airfare. You can book your flight at Alaska Airlines or Delta Airlines, which have daily service to Sitka, Alaska from Seattle, Washington. Call them Alaska @ 800-426-0333 or find flights on their website

When booking keep in mind:

Lodge check out time is 11am Alaska Time

Arriving after 10pm is not optimal for pick up by our staff

Great question. You’ll need to purchase a fishing license and get a king salmon stamp online before you arrive. Simply go to Alaska Fish and Game and purchase and print your license, please provide correct date and time when you enter the information.  A printed copy is needed to fish on the boat.

All of our rooms are based on double occupancy, with an extra-long twin bed for each plus a private bathroom. If you’re taking a solo trip, we can arrange for you to stay by yourself as occupancy allows.

Absolutely. We take care of your fish from the moment it is caught on the boat until your departure. We bleed the fish on the boat, clean it and pack it on ice. At the dock we fillet the day’s catch, vacuum pack each fish with commercial packers, and flash freeze it to 30 degrees below zero. Finally, we box it all up according to your airline’s specs, so you can check it. When you get home it will taste as good as the day you caught it.

We can fish up to six guests per boat. If you and three others book together, you can have the boat to yourselves. If your group is less than four people, we’ll pair you up with other adventurers ready to have a good time.

Yes, each boat has one available.

Yes, one of our staff will pick you up when you arrive and drop you off for your departure, lodge check out time is 11am regardless of your flight on departure day. Also, you should note that if you plan to arrive early to explore, you’ll have to arrange transportation with one of several taxi services in town to pick you up at the airport upon arrival.

We’ll make sure your fish are boxed up in airline-approved packaging and ready to check in as luggage. Find the Alaska Airlines baggage fees on their website.

We provide mixers, ice, and refrigerators for your use. You’ll have to bring or purchase (in town) your own alcohol.

Each day we aim to spend 8-10 hours on the water. You’ll have plenty of chances to catch that dream fish!

We fish in all weather, so you’ll never have to worry about losing a day. But don’t worry—we provide all the rain gear and boots required, so you’ll stay warm and dry.

Our lodge has Wi-Fi access throughout. Mobile phones do work here, though service can be intermittent, depending on your provider.
